Monica Mendoza
My name is Monica Mendoza and I currently reside in Dallas, TX. I am originally from good ole’ Lubbock, TX.
I have over 14 years experience in the Foodservice sales industry and I am currently with a company, Martin Preferred Foods, where I just celebrated 8 years with in March. I have two older brothers and am the only girl so that makes me the baby and as my brothers would say “Daddy’s Girl”. My mother passed in Oct. 2008 due to health complications but my family has and always will be a very close knit union. I have two beautiful daughters, Viktoria and Meagan. Viktoria is expecting her first child in July, my first grand baby! My oldest daughter Meagan just finished her second year of college at Texas Tech. I am a pretty easy going individual and am always looking for ways to add to my life experiences and character. My mother instilled in me that Patience is a virtue and I try to live by one quote that sticks with me:
“Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.” ~Mother Teresa

Jessica Martin
My name is Jessica. I live in Lexington, KY with my husband and two year old boy named Mattix. I am an anti-UK basketball fan. I have been in the Kentucky Air National Guard for 11 years. As a civilian, I currently work in chemical detection equipment maintenance and repair. At the time of this trip I will be just over a month away from my first half marathon. If it is safe to and anyone wants I would like to go running a couple miles a day. If not, I will just do some plyometrics and hopefully people won't think I'm too crazy. This will be my second Global Village trip and I look forward to working hard and having a great time.

In my spare time, I like to go the beach, and occasionally, ski, sail and kayak, though none as much as I would like. I also spend time working around the yard and reading.I have been on several Habitat build trips. My most recent build trip was to Guatemala with my two sons in the summer of 2010. I built in Beius, Romania in the spring of 2010 and liked Budapest and Romania so much that I wanted to come back.
Scott Gerber
I'm a native New Yorker who's found his way to the mountains of Park City, UT (via multiple routes). Currently I'm taking a short break from the rat race after a little of a rough year, and enjoying every minute of it. I'm a Marketing and Sales Executive in the internet industry, currently single, and will likely be moving back to a big city again soon. My interests vary from active outdoor activity such as skiing, biking, hiking, golf, and tennis to travelling, eating good food and drinking great wine. I'll be adding about 11 days to this trip to check out Budapest and Prague, and even going to see Coldplay in Prague!
This will be my first Habitat trip and I'm looking forward to working with everyone. While I'm not knowledgeable about construction and carpentry, I can hold my own with a hammer and don't mind carrying heavy loads (hope I don't regret saying that!). And by the way, I just had my Tetinus/Diptheria booster the other day and it feels like someone punched me in the arm. :)

I’ve been living in Chicago for the past 25 years and before that, New York City and, briefly, Denver. I am from St. Louis originally and spent summers during college in DC. YES, I LIKE TO TRAVEL! I’m debating whether I might be up for one more move and look at the upcoming Habitat trip as an opportunity to shake things up a bit. I’ve been in sales for most of my professional life and now work part time in a wine bar as well as run a small business designing women’s accessories out of men’s ties. Looking so forward to this adventure of building homes and possibly seeing some vampires!
Mike Blair
Though I am originally from Tennessee, I like to think of myself as a Floridian, as I have spent over 20 years there. I live in Cocoa Beach. I am 55 years old. I have retired from a 25 year career in the retail business and managed to keep myself busy for a couple of years, overseeing the construction of a vacation/rental home in the Abacos, Bahamas and doing some consulting work for various retailers. This will be my 1st volunteer trip and I am excited about everything I will see and learn. I look forward to working with everyone. I like to golf, I read quite a bit and have made a not so great attempt at day trading lately!
